Domaine Francois Mikulski, Meursault, Burgundy
With a Polish name and no family tradition to keep in mind François Mikulski and his wife Marie-Pierre were free to create something completely new when they founded Domaine Mikulski in 1992. The most obvious result was the labels for the bottles, far from the traditional burgundian label. |

..."What makes a Meursault a Meursault is a particular style changing with the premier cru and the winemaker. There’s no perfect style. For me the best style is minerality. In white wine I like purity, minerality and of course with minerality a certain acidity, just to make the wine exciting. When you have finished your glass you want another one. That means it refreshing, exciting. That’s what I like in a wine, even if it is an aligoté or a muscadet."...

Domaine Amiot Guy, Chassagne Montrachet, Burgundy
The Domaine Amiot Guy et fils was created in 1920 upon the acquisition of 2 hectares of vines in the Chassagne Montrachet hills. While the Domain was at the time small in size, the wine parcels it contained were already quite remarkable. Now in its fourth generation with Thierry, Guy's son increasingly taking over responsibility. The domaine is one of the best sources of top quality, good value burgundy and lies next to the 1er Cru vineyard of Les Caillerets in Chassagne. |

Domaine Michel Gaunoux
Top-notch Pommard is one of the most cellar-worthy and brilliant wines in the Côte de Beaune, and no domaine in the village makes greater Pommard than that of Domaine Michel Gaunoux. Domaine Michel Gaunoux, first started in 1885 by Alexandre Gaunoux, has a long, enviable track record for producing brilliant Pommard (not to mention superb Cortons and Beaunes), that age gracefully and develop complexity as profound as all but the very top handful of grand cru terroir of the Côte de Nuits. |

..."Given the legacy of great wines this estate has produced over the course of the last hundred and twenty years, it is remarkable that the wines of Michel Gaunoux are not better known, but the domaine prefers to keep a low profile while continuing to turn out their interpretation of great traditional Burgundy. But make no mistake; this is one of the greatest red wine estates in all of Burgundy."...
